Paving in the Platte County Seat
Asphalt paving in Platte City covers an old county seat beside the Platte River. Platte City was incorporated in September 1843 and is the seat of Platte County. It lies on the south side of the Platte River at 968 feet, with Interstate 29 on the east side of the city. Union troops razed the town, including the courthouse, on December 16, 1861, and it was rebuilt. The 2020 census counted 4,784 residents.
River and floodplain
The Platte Falls Conservation Area lies northeast of the city along the floodplain, and Gibson Branch starts within city limits and flows into the Platte River. Properties toward the river and creek tend to have wetter ground. We give those driveways more base and better slope.
Older and newer homes
Homes near downtown and the courthouse have older driveways, often patched or overlaid. Newer subdivisions closer to I-29 have younger driveways that need maintenance. We look at which you have.
County fair
The Platte County Fair, held just outside the city since 1863, is described as the oldest continuously operating fair west of the Mississippi. Lots that serve fair traffic and nearby businesses should be patched and striped before it.
Commercial lots
Businesses near the I-29 interchange see trucks and travelers. Those lots need thicker sections where heavy vehicles turn, plus regular sealing and striping.
Our approach
Site visit, written quote, warm-weather paving. If work reaches the street, we confirm the city's requirements first.
Gibson Branch and runoff
Gibson Branch begins inside the city and drains to the Platte. During heavy storms, runoff from streets and yards heads toward it. Driveways in its path need slope and edges that keep that water moving across, not under, the pavement.
Group scheduling
We often schedule Platte City jobs alongside Weston and Dearborn work. Ask your neighbors if they need sealing too.
